About Lisa
Expertise
I can answer questions about Lesbian/Bi relationships, coming out, sexuality, depression, family problems, divorce, and any other teenage thing you could ask about. I don't know if I can always help, but I'll try hard to understand what's going on and give the best advice.

Experience
I'm lesbian/bisexual and the majority of my friends are bi. My parents have been divorced, and my mother has had cancer. I struggled with depression myself for a long time, but I'm better now and I want to help people in the same sorts of situations.

Answer
Hey Teresa,

Coming out seems to be one of the biggest problems for teens especially. It takes parents time to adjust to their child being different than who they originally though. Remind them that you are still the same person and that you trusted them enough to be honest with them for the first time in four years. Hang in there, rejection is always tough. I'd suggest you tell your best friend that you care about her and no matter what your family does, you still want to be her friend. If your family starts to be a little more tolerant, try to get them to go to a PFLAG meeting.

I hope I could help, and write back if you need any more advice.

-Lisa
