Gay/Lesbian/Bi Teens - I know im ready!

Expert: Haffiez Michael Lithman - 9/12/2007

Question
Basically Im bi! No questions asked! Im pretty sure im ready to come out... Every morning I wake up earlier than im suppose to for some reason... And then I get the urge to wake up my mom right before I leave the house and say "Mom... Im Bisexual" And then when she says something I wanna say "I have to catch the bus" and leave... just to keep her thinking... Cuz my mom is different then other moms... shes young and not one to sit down and talk with... I know when she gets home from work we'll talk about it... and that doesnt bother me... But the thing is... when I walk up the stairs and get to her door... I choke and just leave for the bus.... this has happened for a week now... Im 99.9% ready to come out but its just that .1% thats stopping me... How can I overcome my feelings? Like... How do I just come out and say "Im bi" Should I come out another way??? Its sooo complicating!

Answer
Thank you for your e-message received 13 Oct 2007.

Not everyone is ready. All you need to do is to take the risk. After all, she is your mother and mother is always taken as the first person for anyone to come out because they grew up and raised by mothers. They know you well before your father or even siblings in some cases. I wish you all the best dear.

Please do not hesitate to contact me, should youhav efurther query.
