Question Hi was wondering if there was any possible way of your help. I am trying to trace my biological father with VERY limited information. I have a first name and that he was a paratrooper in the army. Could you put me in the right direction or give me some advice on how to go about finding him.
Many thanks
Kay
Answer With what you have, the answer is no way. However there are ways to get more information.
1. Is there a name on the birth certificate?
2. What does your mother say?
3. Have you asked relatives/friends who your mother was dating at that time?
4. Are there any photos that would identify what company/regiment of the army he was in?
I would then go to a library that has old newspapers (probably on microfilm)and see if you can find out what regiment/company was in the area at the time of your conception. If you do find any information this way, look on-line to see if the group has a newsletter for ex-members.
I am afraid there is not much else you can do but miracles do happen so keep trying.
