Question
Can you find any info on the Cheney, Griffin surnames. Cheney' i have traced to Ohio then nothing, as a court house was burned down and no record are available. Griffin was a name that was taken to replace an indian surname-? Not sure what the name was, any way of finding out?

Thanks
Deana Renee

Answer
Deana,
I have access to ancestry.com. I did a search for Cheney in Ohio & came up with WWI soldiers, deaths in Ohio.
Who are you looking for? What are the dates?
You also need to check other spellings of the name, like
Chaney. As for finding what the indian name that will be a little harder.
I would like to help you with this.
Who are you looking for & where are the Griffins located?
You may email me at researchlady_46@yahoo.com.

Anita
