Question Communicate three examples of African resistance to European colonization.
Answer 1. The British-Zulu war in South Africa during the late 19'th century.
2. The Ethiopian resistance to Italian conquest when the Italians tried it the first time (when Mussolini did it in the 1930'ies it was therefore the second time).
3. You also had resistance to German conquest in South West Africa (Namibia) in the late 19'th and early 20'th century.
4. Italy conquered Libya in North Africa around 1911. That had to be done militarily against local & Turkish (Libya was until then a Turkish vassal state) resistance. Please note that the first military air raids (including airial bombing) in World History was carried out in that war by the Italians.
5. The Mau Mau resistance movement against British agricultural settlers in Kenya in the 1950'ies.
6. Algerian resistance against France in the 1950'ies and early 1960'ies. Algeria had at that time a rather big French population and was NOT a colony but a direct part of France ("France on the other side
