i was hoping you could tell us the name of john white's granddaughter? she is supposedly the first english child born in america.

Hi Mike,
John White's daughter was Eleanor White Dare. She is credited with baring the first child born of English parents in America on 18 August 1587 at the Roanoke colony in Virginia. Her name, not coincidentally, was Virginia Dare.
