Question i have two pc and one printer that is connected using my print server with 4 port switch. when i try to print file, the printer dialog come out and said the printer is not respond but the stranger is it still can print. can tell me why ? or because the subnet mask between my print server and pc is different? my print server subnet mask is 255.255.0.0 and my pc is 255.255.255.0
please clarify.. i am beginner of network.
Thanks for answering my question..
Answer Hi Tim,
As the printing does go through, it means that there is connectivity between the devices. Though you need to make the changes to the mask and make sure that it is the same on all devices in your network.
The popup might be a result of the problematic software installation on the PC, try to reinstall and give it a go.
Surely this does not seem to be a networking issue.
