Question I'd like to install a 2nd wireless access point to my existing network for public access to the internet. It it as simple as giving it a different SSID and having it use a different channel than the "office" wireless?
Answer Hi Jacque, and thanks for your question.
In fact, you should use the same SSID on both of your access points. That way devices can "roam" and connect to whichever connection is stronger at that time. This is completely invisible to the user. You should manually set the broadcast channels as far apart as possible to minimize interference. If you are setting up a Wireless B or G access point, make your existing device use channel 1 and the new one channel 11.
Good luck, and I hope this helps.
Ralph
