General Networking/Lan/Wan/Network Name in System Tray

Question
In the system tray in the lower right hand corner, my network name is followed by a space and the number 3 [this is the third time I have established this network in my summer home].  All other places only show just the network name.

How can I get rid of the number?

Thanks,

Jack

Answer
Is the network adapter on your computer built in or is it a usb device?

What operating system are you using? (XP, Vista, 7, 8 etc).

This isn't something to worry too much about, unless you keep getting prompted for the type of connection it is?
