Question
That's it. I want to find the IP address on my LAN for a device that I know its MAC address. I am looking for a simple dos command in order to understand and appreciate the procedure in which such kind of request is made.

Answer
Hi,

To trace a MAC to and IP in a command prompt you can use the arp command. If you open up a command prompt and enter arp (Address Resolution Protocol), it will give you the list of commands available. I think you will definitely appreciate this command as it has many possibilities.

I hope this helps and thank you for writing.

Have a nice day,
John
