Question please let me know how to record from investment statement : Prior transactions settling/canceled, and Net unsettled purchase/sales. If i had a stock which was on the purchase list, and was included in the daily transaction but then the same amount was as Net unsettled purchase/sales , next month the note for the same transaction was Prior transactions settling/cancelled. i don't understand how to record it.thanks.

If that is the case
then this is what I do
If i buy 500 shares
I immediately enter it on form schedule D 1
the Irs tax form
the first column is the amount of the purchase 500 shares
and the name of the security I will use cat for caterpiller
the second column is the date bought
the third column is the date sold
the fourth column is the amount you paid
call your broker for this if you cant find it on your statement
the fifth column is the amount you sold the position for
the 6th column is the result from subtracting column 5 from column 4
that result is negative if you had a loss and positive if you had a gain
