Question
Do Umbilical Hernias in adults ever get better?  Do they heal themselves, or do they only get worse?

Answer
Dear Bo,

Hernias do not get better by themselves. If left alone they will either remain the same or eventually get worse(usually bigger).

Whether or not you need surgical intervention should be decided between you and your doctor.

Please feel free to contact me again.

PS check out this website...with information on hernias that occur on the abdominal front area.
