Question
What medicines is of urgent matter to stop before my operation?  I am taking Bioplus (30ml a day) is it dangerous or must I stop.  What type of blood thinning products is also a matter of urgency to stop, what about skin medicines that I am using that contain Vit A & Vit K

Answer
Dear Tanja,

Typically before surgery it is advised to stop all blood thinning medications and herbal or OTC's that will influence your anesthesia.

You should ask your doctor which medications he wants you to stop. If you aren't sure about and herbal or OTC(Over the counter) medication that you take, you should probably stop taking it as a precaution.

I hope this helps.
