I am really disgusted with this answer. OF COURSE IT MATTERS HOW THE ECOLI GOT THERE!!! Do you have any idea the trauma and medication that someone has to deal with ?? My husband has anE.coli infection from the hospital. You're dead wrong if you think, we don't want to know how it got there. The patient has every right to know. We are not guinea pigs. We deserve to know how we got this sick in the first place.  Who every said it doesn't matter, should get off this site. What an arrogant answer from someone in the medical field. Sorry, done with the nonsense.
