Answer
Dear Paolo:

Which of the following questions is grammatically correct?

1) How many people live in Los Angeles?

2) How many people do they live in Los Angeles?

*** #1 is correct.  #2 is wrong, because the verb "live" is sufficient.  You have added a second verb "do" and it ruins the sentence.

And what is the answer?

"In Los Angeles live xyz people" or "Xyz people live in Los Angeles live xyz
people"?

*** "XYZ people live in Los Angeles" is the correct version.
