A) Hame asked Dr.Johnson to help him with his English and Mr. Johnson said, "I shall be happy to serve as A language resource for you."

B) Hame asked Dr.Johnson to help him with his English and Mr. Johnson said, "I shall be happy to serve as language resource for you."

And if is both of them are correct, then what is the difference between them? Please explain your reasons.

Thank you

Best wishes

Answer
Hello Hame - and thanks for your question.

A is correct. B is not grammatically correct.

The indefitinte article ('a') is required here.

And another thing -

If you adress somebody as Dr, you cannot then switch to Mr.

Plus the sentence would be better written thus:

Hame asked Dr.Johnson to help him with his English and he replied, "I shall be happy to serve as alanguage resource for you".

Hope that helps.

Three answers for the price of one :-)
