General Writing and Grammar Help/Paragraph Editing

We have to find a word which is missing in each sentence and write before or after the word to correct it grammartically.

"There was a time school was
a nightmare me. At that
time I swept clung to my
mom willing to go to school
gradually interest and liking school grew.
After I reached age of twelve so, I felt that
there should no be scoldings."

I try it from my level and I write it below. You may also correct me in this.
"There was a time when school was
a nightmare to me. At that
time I swept  to clung to my
mom not willing to go to school
but gradually interest and liking to school grew.
After I reached at age of twelve so, I felt that
there should not be any scoldings."

My version is below. You also need some punctuation:

"There was a time when school was a nightmare to me. At that time I swept floors [?] and clung to my mom, not willing to go to school. But gradually my interest in and liking for school grew.
After I reached the age of twelve or so, I felt that there should not be any more scoldings."

I hope that helps.
