General Writing and Grammar Help/Recommend someone for a job

Dear Ted:

Does the phrase "to recommend someone for a job" exist?

If so, would you please give me some examples?

Thank you very much for your kind help.

Dear Paolo:

Does the phrase "to recommend someone for a job" exist?

****  It certainly does.

Stanley is intelligent, hard-working, and very amiable.  I had no problems recommending him for the job he was seeking.

Mary has many good qualities; however, she is just not willing to work with other people.  For that reason, I could not recommend her for the job.
