Dear Ted:

Which of the following sentences is/are grammatically correct and natural?

1) Tolkien's fans will be surprised after this.....

2) Tolkien fans will be surprised after this.....

3) Fans of Tolkien will be surprised after this.....

If all three are possible and have the same meaning, which would you use?

If all three are possible and have the same meaning, which would you use?

*** All three are correct. #1 and #2 are the most frequently used examples.  However, many people prefer #3.  The option is up to you.

My preference is #2.  [That one is probably the most often used expression.]
