How am I'm i part Polynesian how many generation ago is that i a Black American with some rumor of Seminole and Cherokee in my fathers background.
My last test said 8 percent east Asian is that similar to Polynesian or American Indian.
I thought Asian would show up because in the 50s and 60s people would call my mother Asian racial slurs like Gook and black Jap growing up i was also teased by kids because i looked part East Asian

so am i really part Polynesian or Native American or Finish should i ignore those results d

Answer
Hi Malcolm,

The predictions of % lineage totally depend on correct sequencing of genes, the software that analyzes and how good the statistical algorithm is. So the % may not accurately predict your lineage. But it is possible to have a mix- and believe most of will have (who knows what our great great greate ancestors lived :)). Even though you may genes from different lineage, only the dominant ones will show for many generations until diluted out.
That said, I would lean heavily on your parental and grand parental genes. From your stats, you could be part European however, the dominant African genes would determine your appearance.

Best,

Thane
