Question
External morphological structure is inherited. But are  the behaviour inherited? or they are determined by environment ?

Answer
Hi Praveen,

Genes for behavioral patterns in humans are not yet known completely, as they are known for morphological structure. However, genes for certain traits like aggressiveness have been documented. Remember that behavior is physiologically driven by neuronal functions, endocrine and biochemical reactions. These are definitely coded in the genes. However, how they interact to result in a behavior, and how the ability to control one's emotional dictates, are very complex and difficult to study collectively. So I would not doubt about the existence of gene for all behavioral patterns. Given that, environment definitely plays a role in molding the genetically determined behavior.

Best,
