Answer Hi Nikita,
I have answered similar questions in the past so you may want to look at them. But lumbering is found in many areas of Canada, especially in the western zone. Lumbering is mostly done from early spring to late fall and NOT during the Winter months. Lumbering is a very important enterprise in Canada and provides many jobs and is an important export product for the economy.
Lumbering has many stages:
1) the land is leased for the purpose of cutting trees
2) the trees are selected
3) the trees are cut down (now called logs)
4) the logs are transported to a storage facility
5) the logs are classified and graded
6) the logs go to the saw mill and are processed
7) the logs are cut into dimensional lumber
8) the lumber is kiln dried and packaged for shipment
9) the lumber is shipped to whole sale markets
