Question
Is the Black Sea actually a lake and because of its size called a sea.

Answer
Andrew,

The Black sea is actually a sea. The Black Sea (known as the Euxine Sea in antiquity) is an inland sea between southeastern Europe and Asia Minor. It is connected to the Mediterranean Sea by the Bosporus and the Sea of Marmara, and to the Sea of Azov by the Strait of Kerch.

The Black Sea does not get it name because it is black. Although, it does have darker waters than most other bodies of water, but it received it's name from the inhospitableness of the waters for sailing.

Expertise

I can answer most geography questions, or at least I can try. I`m pretty good on research. I don`t like questions that causes me to write a long drawn out answer. That takes up too much time. I have many other things to do than spend my time on one question. I`m NOT school trained in Geography, so don`t expect me to answer deep questions about Geography, and don`t get Geology mixed up with Geography. A lot do.

Experience

In the past, I use to answer questions in allexperts.com, and askme.com. I don't consider myself an "expert" in anything. I'm just pretty good at research.
