Question
Respected Sir,
I would like to know whether we can identify manganese ore bodies through ASTER images,if so how?what are the methods?I kindly request you to help me.

Answer
Anoop:

I know from past experience that manganese and other elements found in soil at higher concentrations can be identified by combining the spectral bands in which they are highly absorbed.  Here are a few articles that discuss that topic and suggest possible techniques for their identification. The third might be the most useful.
