Question Can you please explain these?
Seismic Processing Software
Spatial data and asset data
Answer Seismic Processing Software is software specifically written to process seismic data for stacking, migration, frequency filtering and correction and other mathmatical manipulation of the data to correct for the difference in geometry between the energy source and the recievers or geophones. The software becomes more complex when it comes to 3D seismic where a 3D data volume is created rather than the old linear 2D seismic.
Spacial data and asset data are other terms for what we used to call Land and Reserve data, data relating to lease holdings now probably on a GIS system. This would be records of acreage and lease boundaries and also would include reservoir pay thickness and extent. This would allow calculation of protential reserves for a field, which in economic terms is an "asset". These booked "assets" are collateral against which an oil company can borrow money to conduct exploration or to develop a field or build a pipeline to get the unrefined product to a refinery.
