AboutFarrukh Qayyum Expertise I can answer to the questions related to the following disciplines mainly: geology, geophysics, general geomorphology, stratigraphy, seismic stratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy. I would like to answer Geophysical question too with keen interest specifically exploration related. I want to hear from users for their queries on exploration geophysics/geology. Especially, in the discipline of Reservoir Characterization from multi-discipline data. The questions related to basics and interpretational applications would be most welcome.

i am doing thesis on "2D Sesimic Interpretation and velocity anaysis" on Rajian oil field of OGDCL located in Upper Indus basin.....if you can suggest me good sites realted to interpretation...or you can provide good stuff on Rajian..Sir i wanted to visit the oil field personally...will it be of any help in Thesis? and can u give me good tips for making Thesis special...

I'm not sure where this field is exactly location. Is that at south of islamabad? I'll suggest you to read about the potwar basin and related fault architecture. There are duplex structures with flower structural assembles. I don't know how much data you have. But you will have to read about the things by yourself.
There are reports on gravity, and reserve exploration in QAU departement try to open and read them. There will be previous thesis in the departement on surrounding fields.
Read them and feel free to ask any question.
Visiting the oil field is a very good plan. Try to visit Baker Hughes Inteq or OGDCL and plan a one day trip with them. Hopefully they will help you. That will broaden your mind and knowledge.
Try to work with interactive softwares like Surfer, Rockworks etc for mapping and visualization of your grid in 3D. Try to understand the meaning of contoure maps. And make your own interpreted maps using those softwares. This will help you a lot to make a good thesis. Improve your writing skills. Write thesis in your own way. Learn about the things how to explain what exactly is in your mind. Then you will comeup with real good ideas.
