Would you please like to tell the students some interesting topics regarding sequence stratigraphy for their research proposals?

Hello Rizwan,

Its better if you study the seismic data, some key 2D lines in a basin edge and study the reflection patters and reconstruct the stratigraphic framework of that basin. Such case study will help you to develop yourself in this domain. So, I'll suggest you to interpret the seismic reflections of known basin. Either paper seismic or on workstation. You can write a proposal to your university on that.

For your interest, there is a very good uptodate web page on sequence stratigraphy. Browse that website and find more interesting aspects of this science.

I can answer to the questions related to the following disciplines mainly: geology, geophysics, general geomorphology, stratigraphy, seismic stratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy. I would like to answer Geophysical question too with keen interest specifically exploration related. I want to hear from users for their queries on exploration geophysics/geology. Especially, in the discipline of Reservoir Characterization from multi-discipline data. The questions related to basics and interpretational applications would be most welcome. I can not answer the questions related to astronomly, ecology/environmetal sciences, mineralogy and petrology/petrophysics. Such categories are not my discipline of experience.
