Geology - Mountains and stability of the earth (crust)

Expert: Dr D.Venkat Reddy - 7/12/2009

Question
Hi,
If the mountains doesn't exist or they have not been made at first, and there was no ability for crust to make chain mountains in the side of plates, How was the ability of earth (crust)?
How many earthquakes do we have more...?!
Thanks and Regards
Farhad Ashkani

Answer
Farhad
You have to read general geology to understand the crustal configuration.Earh is fored from solar system cooled down to form mountains.Even the deeper layers of the earth is too hot and not possiable to dill the entire earth.
In addition o this molten volcanic lava erupted and being reupting now also to form volcanic chain of mountains.Earth process also resulted for formation of sedimentary mouuntains. In ocean too bigger mountain chains are coming now.
Earth is unstable-
Earthquakes-sevreral thousands of earthquakes occur in day-however very few are recordable. It is not possiable to forecast future earthquakes .However research is ongoing in this field to find out the forecast technology
