Geology/compressional basin in pakistan

salam ....

sir i want to know name of compressional basins in pakistan .... plz with detail....?????/

There are only two basins of Pakistan, i. Indus Basin and, ii. Balochistan Basin.
Potwar, Sulaimam and Kirthar etc are different Geological Provinces (GPs) of Pakistan. You may refer 'Stratigraphy of Pakistan' (Shah, 2009), which gives the details of GP classification. Similarly, Makran, Kharan and Chagai-Raskoh are the three GPs of Balochistan Basin.

As per the plate tectonics theory the main collision of the Indian Plate with the Eurasian Plate began in early Cenozoic, and basically the tectonics is compressional, as all the microplates were converging. It is only the Badin area where we find evidence of extensional tectonics, which is a result of pre-Cenozoic activity.

You may also refer 'Geology and Tectonics of Pakistan' by Kazmi and Jan (1997).
