Question
Sir , what are the applications of engineering geology in civil engineering projects ?
Kindly elaborate because I need to understand it's relationship.

Thanks

Answer
Dear Maham, Goodmorning and Fraternal Greetings!

The applications of Engineering Geology in Civil Engineering projects are innumerable. Plenty of applications are there.

For any Underground tunnel or cavern, first and foremost thing is to conduct Geological and Geotechnical Mapping to derive RQD and Q. these parameters are very much required for the design of the Tunnel and also for stability of the structure.

In-situ stress, In-situ Deformability and In-situ Shear parameters are also important for the design of underground caverns for their stability.

For construction of Dam, Road Tunnels, Underground Storage plants, Engineering geology is very much required.

Hence there are lot of and vast applications of Engineering geology in Civil Engineering projects.
