Question
In an isosceles trangle, two sides are equal. The third side is 50% of the length of one of the equal sides. Find the length of the each side when the perimeter is 125 ft.

Answer
Give one of the two sides that are equal length x.
The length of the other side that is the same length is also x.
The length of the third side is x/2.
Add them up and we get x + x + x/2 = 5x/2.

The equation to solve is then 5x/2 = 125, so x = (2/5)125 = 2*25 = 50.

So the length of the sides is 50, 50, and 25.
