Question
what is a list of jobs that use the knowlege of the surface area/ volume of a shere?

Answer
I don't know of any particular job that uses this, but it is sometimes needed in various places.
The volume of a sphere is V = 4πr³.  The derivative of this is the surface area, A = 12πr².

Perhaps somebody wants to calculate how much water it takes to fill a sphere given the radius.

Perhaps they want to know how thin a baloon gets when blown up.

Perapts they need to know how much water will be in a spherical tank to get the right mixture.

In most places I've seen, however, it is not used.
