Dear Prof Azeem

Can Simultaneous equations have complex numbers and can be solved?

Example

(1+2i)x+(2-3i)y=3

(3+2i)x-(4+2i)y=2

Thanks

Prashant

Hi Prashant,

Simultaneous equations with complex numbers can be solved using some of the techniques you would use for real systems (substitution, elimination, matrix inversion...). Just be sure you are comfortable with the division of complex numbers.

Regards,

Azeem
