Question
Express, in terms of i, the roots of the equation (¾)x^2 + 18=0

Answer
3*x^2+72=0
Mutiplying both the sides by 4 we get,
x^2+24=0
x^2=-24
x= square root of (-1*24)  OR
x=(-1)*[square root of (-1*24)]
Therefore
x=[square root of(-1)]*[square root of (24)]  OR
x=(-1)*[square root of(-1)]*[square root of (24)]
Therefore
x=i*[square root of (4*6)]  OR
x=(-1)*i*[square root of (4*6)]
Therefore
x=2i*[square root of(6)]  OR
x=(-2i)*[square root of (6)]
