About MiMi Expertise I have traveled our state extensively both in the large towns and cities as well as the smaller and more rural communities. Any questions about things to do, places to stay and perhaps some hidden treasures in our state I would be happy to speak to

Question Hello Mimi,
I have access to 400 acres of woodlands in rural Southwest Georgia with a large historic home that might be available to develop a Retreat/Learning/Conference Center. The location is 40 miles north Tallahassee, Florida and an airport, 30 miles from I-10 and 50 miles from I-75.
Do you think there is a potiential for a facilities in this location to host programs, seminars, workshops? If so, what size group would need to be attracted and what type of fees for the facility could be charged? Would you know someone else to ask this question to?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Answer Hi Tom
WOW!! Sounds like you have an awesome place whether you do retreats or not!! What town are you near...Thomasville or Baimbridge?
I actually do lots of retreats, primarily in leadership development and strategic planning for both for=profit and not for profit organizations. I have actually done some retreats in Baimbridge. I can tell you it is in the middle of nowhere and they (the groups I work with) have a hell of a time finding someone willing to travel to that neck of the woods. It is beautiful country but impossible to get to in a timely manner.
A person I suggest you might talk with is a guy name Bill Bracewell in Athens Ga. Bill was once the Dean of Students at UGA and has taken groups all over the state. He could give you a unique perspective about what might be the draw in S. Ga. He would be listed under William Bracewell in Athens , Ga.
My gut tells me to advise you against a retreat center in that part of the state. Too hard to get to and most folks simply want to fly into Hartsfield in Atlanta and just be there./ Hope I have not discouraged you.
