Experience
I no longer work at pet store. because I am now working at a hospital, but I worked in the petcare department for a year and was the petcare lead of my department. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun. I also own many types of animals.

Question
Hi i was wandering what has happened to my hamster he is about 7 months old and he aint moving at all apart from when he is twitching im not sure on what type of hamster he is but i think it's a short haired one he is not wet so it mite not be wet tail.i found him yesterday in his wheel on his back. Please can you give me some advice?

Answer
Hello Dan,
it sounds like he may have had a stroke. It certainly sounds like some type of nerve damage if he's twitching. There isn't much that a vet could really do and I don't think that there is much that you can do except put him to sleep I'm afraid. :(
