hii,

ok wull if i want 2 syrian hamsters to keep in the same cage but i dont want them to fight that meens not keeping the same sex in the same cage...so if i get a male and a female but i dont want to breed them do u recomend i nudor (or what its called to a hamster) one of them?

              sry if it was confusing but thank u so very much!

Hi Kailey,

Thank you for your question. Neutering is not possible on hamster due to their small size.  Also Syrian hamsters are solitary which means that if you keep more than one syrian hamster in the same cage they will certainly fight.  It's something natural for them to be solitary... only dwarf hamsters can live together of the same type and gender (only if brought together from a young age), but Syrian hamsters cannot live together.
