German Language - propper

Question
what is the meaning of "propper angezogen"?

Answer
Hi Anne,

it's a spelling variation of "proper", meaning something like "acceptable", with a connotation of "bourgeois". A child that is "propper angezogen" would be very clean and tidy and somewhat traditionally dressed, maybe not quite in a sailor's suit but certainly not in a T-shirt with cartoon characters on it.

Hope this helps,
Cornelia
