German Language - What does this say?

Question
I have a plate that says " Srhaff und erirb Bahl Steuern und ftirb"  Could you tell me what it says?
Thanks.

Answer
Hello

"Schaffe und erwirb zahl Steuern und stirb."

The words don't seem to be spelled correctly (with the exception to Steuern = taxes).
With some phantasy I could read out the sentence above, but it may be wrong, perhaps it would be best to send a photo of the plate if it's handwritten...
The translation of my guess would be

"Work and buy goods, pay taxes and die."

Regards,
Kurt
