Subject: Elterngald received

Question
How can you check whether a child of yours of german nationality has received Elterngald on the last two years

Answer
The easiest way would be to set an inquiry to the competent offices. They may vary from state to state (Look at the different application forms provided in this oniline resource: http://www.elterngeld.net/elterngeldantrag.html). However, if you do not have custody for the child it could be that the office refuses to answer you because you have no entitlement in regard to Elterngeld.

In that event you would have to rely on the information provided by the mother.
