Question My parents are US citizens and I was born in heidleburg germany because they were in the army. I have a german birth certificate, that wouldnt make me a german citizen? Also I am 34 years old and I want to marry my boyfriend in germany, he is also a us citizen.
Answer Shontey: no, you are not a German citizen, rather your birth certificate was only issued in Germany and therefore is in a sense German. If neither you nor your boyfriend is German then you will not be allowed to marry there. Sorry I cannot provide better news. Carolin
