Question
Dear Mr. Andreas,
Do children born to a German mother and a forgien father, who have been divorced and remarried, lose their German citizenship? (for having dual citizenship)

Answer
Dear Daisy,

don't worry:

If your children obtained German citizenship when they were born (which depends on the year of birth), they will never lose it if their parents get divorced or remarried, or if the children themselves get married, divorced or remarried.

German citizenship is usually only lost if a German citizen applies for naturalization in another country, but even that can be avoided with the relevant application ( 25 II StAG).
