German shepherds require intense exercise. They are working dogs X 10 and they must be RUN daily, properly trained, and cant be left alone for hours at a time. Without it you will have a dog you think is defective. It seems even vets dont get this. My friend is a farm vet who has "trained" defective dogs and the primary rehabilitating factor for Shepherds is intense physical exercise. Not a walk a couple days a week.
