Question
I have a 2 year old German Shepherd whoc is continuosly scratching at her right ear in particular we took her to the vet and she was give a ear cleaning liquid and a ear drop but i notice that it's happening again with alot of dark black/brown discharge. when i massage her ear i can hear squishy sound like maybe water. what can we do?

Answer
Hi, It sounds like she has an ear infection and that it didn't completely clear up the first time.  You need to clean her ears again and treat her with the ear ointment as prescribed by the vet.  Sometimes dogs get yeast infections in their ears which cause infections to keep reoccurring.  If this is the case, adding a tablespoon of yogurt to her diet everyday can sometimes help.  Hope this helps,
