Germany - Leipzig, Even Though It's Not Bavaria
Expert: Stuart Anderson - 10/20/2009
Question It's in Saxony, I know, but your profile was the closest to what I think will help me. I'm a writer, working on an historical novel. Some of the story takes place in the near future, and I need to know of a good neighborhood in Leipzig, relatively convenient to the Gewandhaus, where a family might buy a house. Renting isn't out of the question, but they need a fairly large place, since both the husband and wife are musicians, and both need private studios. If this is out of your area of expertise, perhaps you can tell me how I can get this information.
Thank you very much, and I hope your vacation was a good one.
All best . . . Sharon Goldstein
Answer Hi Sharon,
I can tell you that Leipzig is renown for cheap housing prices. Reudnitz-Thonberg and Anger-Crottendorf are two residential areas faily close to the city centre and the Gewandhaus.
If you like, you can check out this link

It's a real estate website where I've brought up houses for rent in Leipzig, so you can see what they lok like, how much they cost and how many square meters they are. You could pick out your family's very house!
Here's another link to a website that shows houses for sale

good luck with your novel!
