Germany - accomodation in bavaria/alps
Expert: Stuart Anderson - 10/26/2009
Question We are holidaying in Germany in early december to january and are looking for somewhere to spend a romantic christmas somewhere in the snow. We are looking for a nice quiet place, was contemplating in the "alps" or someone suggested Bavaria has beautiful scenery aswell. Do you have any suggestions on accomodation - perhaps even have a fireplace etc. Not really going to do any skiing so was hoping for somewhere low key.
Thanks in advance.
Answer Hi Yvette,
I'd suggest going to Berchtesgaden, a quite little corner of the Aps near Austrian border.
Here's a link with some great paces to stay....

It's a really beautiful area with lots of Alpine scenery and a very nice lake, the Königssee. And if you want to some city sightseeing, Salzberg is closeby, not-too-big, romantic and has a great Christmas market.
Have a great trip!
Stuart
