My Ries ancestors were born and lived in the Eckersdorf area in (early 1800's) I would like to know what foreign countries lie east, south, west of Eckersdorf (Bayreuth)? And which foreign country Eckersdorf is closest to? How far Eckersdorf is from Munich or Nuremberg?

To the east of Eckersdorf, only 80 kilometers is the Czech Republic, to the north-east is Poland (340 km)at Görlitz and south-east is Austria near Passau (310 km).
