Question
We are planning a trip to Germany and Austria for either Sept/Oct or Nov/Dec 2010 for about tow weeks.  We have no firm plans as yet but are considering doing part on our own and   part on a more formal tour(river cruise, or the like).  We aare finding most tours include mainly the scenery and historical aspects which is great.  However, we are very interested in observing, touring, hands-on tours of woodcarving, beer stein making, baking, cologne manufacturing, crystal making, concerts, choirs, and unique type specialities of Germany and Austria.  Do you know of any such tours or places doing these or resources we could check?  Our schedule is fairly flexible.  We do know of a place in Ruedesheim and one in Schliersee where we would like to stay for a few days but......
Many thanks in advance for any assistance you can give.
Bobbi
