Question I've noticed banks are offering Islamic instruments and services, is there any benefit to using these? what might be the disadvantages?

Answer They are primarily structured to meet Koranic laws regarding money lending and investing. The only real advantage is that you can invest and bank without breaking any religious rules. Rather like eating Kosher if you are Jewish. Or Halal if you are Moslem.
