Question We have a 4 yr old Oberhasli who has this odd skin condition- raised, crusty,
white patches that are dry all over one side and down one back leg, and some
on her cheek and upper udder now. I thought maybe it was a fungus and was
giving her daily fungicide shampoo baths, which seemed to help slightly. But
another local goat dairy said it was an autoimmune condition. I would live to
save her as she is very sweet. Do you know what this condition might be and
how to get rid of it? We tried antibiotics (Exenel) and her milk production
dropped significantly when these bumps arrived. She is eating and drinking
normally. Thanks
Answer HI Laura,
There are SO many different skin disorders that it may be your best bet to have a vet take a skin scraping and test it to see just what it is you are dealing with- he can then provide the correct mode of treatment. I doubt it is an autoimmune disorder- I would really have a vet diagnose this for you.
